COMMUNITY GRANTS PROVIDED TO DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS BY THE DURAN FOUNDATION

SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS OR 1999, 2000 AND 2001

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Duran Foundation Scholarship Fund has been established to provide an avenue for young, deserving students to advance their higher education. By providing this avenue to our Raza community, the Duran Foundation confirms its commitment to identify and support promising young scholars in completing their college education. These scholarships are available on a competitive basis to (I.) Graduating high school students and are enrolled for the fall semester at a local college or university (2.) Continuing undergraduate students.

The Duran Foundation believes and promotes the concept of "giving back to our community". We are in a position to break the cycle of poor education and lowered expectations that our young students find themselves facing. Breaking this cycle is very important if we are to improve the quality of life for our community.

It is the primary aim of the Duran Foundation to increase the number of students enrolling in and completing undergraduate degree programs. The Foundation is interested in making a difference on a local level when it involves our young students and whether or not they will successfully complete their studies in order to become productive members of our society.

To qualify for one of the scholarships you must be an East Bay California Resident
